It's from James Lileks' Gallery of Regrettable Food book, celebrating the... um... unique character of mid-century American cuisine. The recipe for "South of the Border Cheesy Meatloaf" specifies that ingredients must be mixed in a turquoise bowl while imagining Lawrence Welk in a bullfighter's costume. ("For extra-spicy version, remember that Welk is naked under his costume.")
